Bluetooth® connects your phone to your Dodge Uconnect® screen so you can make hands-free calls, stream music and use voice commands without picking up your phone. AutoNation Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram North Phoenix put together this guide to pair your phone in a few minutes.
How to Set Up Bluetooth in Your Dodge
Before you start
- Park your Dodge and turn it on. Don't pair your phone while driving.
- Turn on Bluetooth in your phone's settings and keep your phone unlocked.
- Make sure your phone isn't already connected to another Bluetooth device, like headphones.
Pair your phone
- On the Uconnect screen, press Phone. If no phone has been paired yet, Uconnect asks if you'd like to pair one. Select Yes and skip to step 4.
- Select Settings, then Paired Phones.
- Select Add Device. If you don't see Paired Phones, go to Settings > Phone/Bluetooth > Paired Phones > Add Device. Uconnect is now discoverable and may show a PIN.
- On your phone, open Bluetooth settings and select Uconnect from the list. On Android, press Scan if you don't see it.
- Confirm the PIN on your phone and on the Uconnect screen if one appears. Allow access to your contacts and messages when your phone asks.
- When Uconnect asks if you want to make your phone a favorite, select Yes. Your phone then connects first whenever you get in.
Your phone and your Dodge are now connected over Bluetooth. Menu names can differ by model year, so your owner's manual has the exact steps for your Dodge.
Using Bluetooth in Your Dodge
Once you're connected, press the Phone button on your steering wheel or use the Uconnect screen to:
- Make and receive hands-free calls
- Stream music, podcasts and audiobooks from your phone
- Hear and reply to text messages with your voice
You can also say "Show Paired Phones" to open your list of paired phones from any screen.

Delete or Switch a Phone
Press Phone on the Uconnect screen, select Settings > Paired Phones, choose the phone and delete it. Then remove Uconnect from the Bluetooth list on your phone. To switch phones, select the phone you want from the Paired Phones list.

Bluetooth FAQs
How do I pair my phone to Bluetooth in my Dodge?
Park your Dodge, turn on Bluetooth on your phone, then press Phone on the Uconnect screen and select Settings > Paired Phones > Add Device. Select Uconnect from the Bluetooth list on your phone, confirm the PIN if one appears, and choose Yes when Uconnect asks if you want to make your phone a favorite.
Why won't my phone connect to Uconnect in my Dodge?
Start with the basics. Restart your phone and your Dodge, make sure Bluetooth is on and your phone isn't connected to another device like headphones, and update your phone's software. If it still won't connect, delete your phone from the Uconnect list, remove Uconnect from your phone's Bluetooth list, and pair again.
How many phones can I connect to my Dodge at once?
You can pair several phones, but most Uconnect systems connect one phone at a time for calls. The phone set as your favorite connects first when you get in. If another phone connects instead, open Paired Phones and select the one you want.
How do I delete a phone from my Dodge?
Press Phone on the Uconnect screen, select Settings > Paired Phones, choose your phone and delete it. Then remove Uconnect from the Bluetooth list on your phone so the two forget each other before you pair again.
Why does my phone work for calls but not for music in my Dodge?
Calls and music use separate permissions. Open Settings next to your phone on the Paired Phones screen and make sure both Phone and Media are turned on, then reconnect your phone.
Why don't my contacts show up in my Dodge?
Your phone has to give Uconnect access to your contacts and messages. When your phone asks during pairing, allow it. If you missed the prompt, open your phone's Bluetooth settings for Uconnect and turn on contact sharing, then reconnect.
How do I make my phone the favorite in my Dodge?
Choose Yes when Uconnect asks if you want to make your phone a favorite during pairing. You can also open Paired Phones, select your phone and choose Favorite. A favorite phone connects first whenever you start your Dodge.
Does Bluetooth use my data plan in my Dodge?
Bluetooth calls and audio don't use mobile data. Apps that stream music or maps do use your phone's data plan, so carrier rates may apply.
