The Return of the Jeep Altitude Models in 2014

The Altitude Family makes a comeback into Jeep's 2014 lineup of select models including the Cherokee, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Patriot and Wrangler. The Altitude trims enhance each Jeep model with luxurious features and other optional packages that were traditionally available for hefty prices only. According to Jeep.com, the Altitude line is designed to take drivers to the "next level" of true Sport Utility Vehicles.

With a starting price tag of just over $20,000, the 2014 Jeep Compass Altitude is in the middle of the price spectrum among all other Altitude models. The interior is equipped with McKinley seats made of premium cloth and vinyl in dark colors. Rear seat heat ducts and heated front seats are some of the premium climate control features found in the 2014 Jeep Compass Altitude. The exterior of this Altitude model comes in a gloss black finish.

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude has a modern crossover SUV design that is family friendly. Some of the distinguishing features of the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the Altitude line are 20-inch wheels and contemporary halogen headlamps. Additionally, this model is available in six different body paint colors including brilliant black and billet silver. The Grand Cherokee Altitude also boasts a best-in-class fuel economy of 30 mpg on the highway, thanks to the 3.0 Liter V6 EcoDiesel engine. The model comes in at around $35,000.

At $17,690, the 2014 Jeep Patriot has the lowest price tag in the Altitude series, and is actually more affordable than the Patriot Latitude and Limited editions.
