The 2014 Dodge Dart Named Car Book "Best Bet"

In March 2014, the 2014 Dodge Dart was named a "Best Bet" in the compact car category by the annual Car Book. This is the second year in a row that the car has gotten this honor; an honor which considers government and nonprofit sources in evaluating criteria such as value, fuel economy, safety, cost of ownership, and other critical factors.

The Dodge Dart is such a tough contender in this category because of its 60+ standard and optional safety features, including ten standard airbags-more than any other car in its class. At 68 percent, it also contains one of the highest steel strength content ratios in the industry. In addition to the "Best Bet" distinction, the 2014 Dart was named most connected car of the year by Connected World magazine and has high safety honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

If you're in the market for an affordable small car with a sporty feel, tons of technology built in, and good fuel economy, it's hard to do better than the Dart. Starting at $15,995, the Dart gets 40 miles per gallon and comes in five distinctive trim levels, meaning that if you're looking for a compact that packs punch, you'll find it in the 2014 Dodge Dart.

This compact four-door sedan is not only one of the safest, but also one of the most powerful cars in its class. The base model, the SE, comes standard with a 160-HP 2.0L four-cylinder engine, making it quick, sporty, and fun to drive. Additional engine upgrades at higher trim levels are also available; the SXT and Aero models both come standard with a 184 horsepower engine.

Music buffs will also love that the 2014 Dodge Dart comes standard with a CD and MP3 player as well as an audio jack for mobile devices. The next model up, the SXT, includes standard Bluetooth support. Power windows and doors are also standard on the base model; the SXT adds air conditioning and remote keyless entry, while the Aero model also adds a 8.4-inch color touchscreen and digital display.

The sporty styling of this sedan makes it stand out on the road, with 16-inch steel wheels and five attractive color choices (red, black, steel, white, and blue). The SXT adds a distinctive LED taillight racing lamp, while the Aero model also includes aerodynamic styling and grille shutters. The Sport version, the Dart GT, adds fine-tuned racing suspension. Additional features on this "modern muscle car" trim level include keyless entry, leather trimmed interior and a ten-way power driver seat. A luxury version, the Dart Limited, is also available.

With options like these at such an affordable price point, it's easy to see why the 2014 Dodge Dart was chosen as a "Best Bet."
